good one about the towel tip... I do that as well, but forgot to mention it... they also don't absorb water as well if dryer sheets are used, because of the film that gets put on the fabric to make them soft
Have you ever felt a towel that came out of the dryer and wasn't dried with a dryer sheet? It's course. I wouldn't out that towel against any car I own. I'd rather not risk scratching the paint.
Do any of you use to wax that states, "Only wax twice a year" but you go ahead and waxwith it monthly? Just wondering cause excessive waxing can lead to a build up on the paint.
I've yet to see anyone post they only wax when the paint is cool and out of the sun.
There are waxes out there that contain silicone in them. It's not a problem will paint work is needed. Unless the wax is stripped off before any work is started it's possible to push the silicone down into the paint and when you try to do the paint repair the new paint just fish eyes. (a bad thing)
One thing I like doing when waxing is the towel(s) I remove the wax with, I use them to polish the glass. It helps remove water spots on the glass.

Since I don't drive my car in the winter or in the rain (if I can help it) I wax it twice a year, but I use Turtle Wax ICE probably every month during car show season.
