For cars,I think the Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant would beat the 2000-2007 Monte Carlo run. They used the same basic platform from 1967 through 1976.

If you look at trucks,Chevrolet and GMC trucks from 1973 through 1987 would qualify.

Dodge even beats GM in the truck department. The Dodge pickup used the same platform from 1972 through 1993.In my opinion the one to have from all those years is the 1978-1979 Little Red Express. Two of my friends had 'Lil Reds, and they were one hot truck.

There wasn't a whole lot of difference in the Camaros from 1970 - 1980.

But if given the choice I'd take a '70 - '73 over a '74 - '80 any day.

I do remember a guy who was my supervisor buying a new '79 Camaro SS. It as a nice car.

How about
Saab (GM owns it)
Volvo (Ford owns)
Back in the 70's I was Volvo mechanic, body style did not change for many years. Volvo was more for safety then looks. 1975-1977 someVolvo had air bags.

Nation's oldest auto assembly plant to close doors
[:-][X(][:-][X(][:-]

A piece of automotive history will soon fade into the record books as the longest-running vehicle assembly plant in Americanhistory, the Jeep Parkway in Toledo, OH, prepares to close up shop this week.
What started as the ******-Overland factory in 1910 helped ****** become the second-largest car company in the US through World War I, andfor a stretch in the1920s the company was led by Walter P. Chrysler. The factoryhelped the US flex its industrial mightand built vehicles and ordinance for the military in World War II, and in 1945, the first civilian Jeep CJ rolled off the line. Presumably, no one expected thesport-utility vehiclecraze that would follow nearly five decades later. Throughout the post-war years, the company went through the hands of Kaiser, AMC, and Renault, with history coming full circlewhen the Chrysler Corporation acquired it in 1987.
The Cherokee SUV was added in the mid-80s and helped keep the plant alive (not to mention its role in popularizing mid-size SUVs), but the replacement of that model by the Liberty - produced at the nearby and significantly more modern Toledo North factory - made the demise of the plant somewhat unavoidable.
Onceoccupyingover 4 million square feet, somewhere in theneighborhood of 11 million vehicles have rolledout of the factoryover the years.GM's Jansville, WI facility will need to run another decade to match the Toledo facility's 96 years of existence.
