- How many `miles on your Monte Carlo + Problems ?
2001 3800 w 128k have had the car since 125k and the second day a bushing spun out so it was knocking hard with alot of metal chips, so got engine replaced under 30 day warrantie. New engine leak oil two separate times having to replace the rear gasket and uper intake gasket. Eventually took it back again for excessive noise and they put ANOTHER new engine in (both from grand prix's
. ) so now I've had this one for a week and haven't had any problems yet . Last night the check engine came on got it checked it was the air pump.....WTF so random right? Anyway I'm pissed even know it won't effect how the car runs exept for the emissions . But it's gnna cost upwards of 350 to replace
. Other than that had the control arms on both sides in the front replaced and bought four brand new sport tires for my 18s (not cheap) but yeah that's it lmao!!!! WTF

I've got a 2002 SS with 126 k on the clock. I've been through pretty much everything. LIM gaskets, UIM melted, leaky trans lines, bad MAF sensor, wheel hubs, leaky oil pan gasket, shorted window switch, window regulators, transmission problems, ISS, belt tensioner, multifunction switch, BCM, etc. You name it, I've had to have it replaced.
I started doing most of my work about three years ago when I realized I would go broke keeping the car on the road paying a shop to do it for me. Even so, I might be approaching the end of the road as this car has morphed into a bottomless money pit.

Well here's an update for me:
The 2003 is fast approaching 28,000 miles - still no problems except for ISS
The 2005 was sold last month with 94,500 miles on it - fixed the bulb issue and had no issues at time of sale.

I traded in my 2000 Monte LS with 202,000 for a 2006 Monte ss with 55k back in July 2012. I just ran my vin and found the 2000 for sale in the same condition I sold it, but the mileage says 142k? I put every mile on that car and traded it in with 202k.
