Default How do you listen to your iPod/iPhone or MP3 in your car?

I just got my car about a week ago, 2000 Monte Carlo SS and am trying to find a good, cheap way to listen to music on my iPhone while driving. When I tried to use a cassette deck adapter, the cassette player kept rejecting the thing and spitting it back out, what's up with that?
I currently use an FM transmitter, but, the frequencies can be difficult, and it makes me angry when it starts cutting out and making obnoxious static sounds.

What do you guys do? I really don't want to spend the money on a whole new stero system right now, if I could, I would and just be done with it forever.

I use an iSimple Gateway (link: The iSimple GateWay - Advanced Car Integration Kit for the iPod and iPhone) that I bought on eBay (way) less than the retail price. This really integrates an iPod down to displaying artist/title on the OEM radio display and using steering wheel buttons to select songs.

But I don't think that they make anything going back to 2000. I once did a project using an inline transmitter that plugs into the radio antenna jack, no static at all. This was don for my son and his beater Firebird - link: barovelli.com - The iPontiac

Ditto on the iSimple, easy install, works great. I installed a PanaVise PortaGrip mount and just put my iPhone in and plug it up when I get in the car. I stream Pandora one (unlimited data). Also charges the phone.

I use a cassette adapter, never really had issues with it. But i have heard of other people having the tape player keep ejecting it.

I plug my Note 3 into the Aux 3.5mm plug in my stupid Head unit. My next Head unit will be Bluetooth compatible.

Yeah, the guy at the radio shack said there is some kind of sensor in there that if it goes bad it ejects tapes.

Your Monte probably came standard with an aux jack, think they started putting them in cars by 2006. But, I am gonna look into the iSimple thing and see what that's all about.

Know the brand? When I used a cassette adaptor in the Firebird the best one was Sony branded.
