How do I disable my factory GM keyless entry?
I have a friend who owns a Buick (same keyless entry as my '03 Monte) and he has an after market alarm on his car. Sometimes when he uses his aftermarket remote to unlock his doors, his factory alarm will go off when he opens the door, requiring him to stick his key in the door and turning to make it stop.
I'm going to have a aftermarket alarm installed in my car soon and was wondering how to disable the factory alarm so that I do not run into this issue. If I can I would like to keep it to where I can easily have it work again if I choose later on if I take the aftermarket alarm out for any reason. Thanks.

A lot of vehicles with a factory alarm system require a bypass module.
I'm not positive about the wiring color code, but to disable the factory alarm on your Monte you need to access the key tumbler. There is a series of wires on the top of the cylinder. The Yellow and Black wires are the positive and negative wires for the alarm. Disconnecting either (insulate end of wire) should disable the system.
