Default Honey I'm Home

From The body shop! I haven't had my Monte for a week. The repairs looks perfect, BUT, there's a coating of dusty, powdery crap over it. What the f? Is it buffing compound? They told me they were washing it, and when I picked it up after work it was dark and didn't see it til I pulled in the garage.

seems like washing a car to have it looking immaculate when it leaves the shop would be standard procedure... get better reviews from people that way you know!!!

< is JEALOUS.......I want my monte back too!!!!!

Only had it a day and it's been in the shop for almost a week now.
Now i just read about montes on the 'net while awaiting mine's return.

Did the dust come off easily?

I too would assume that any body shop would take a few minutes to polish their work so that people thought it was amazing upon pickup, even if the clearcoat is kinda chintzy.

When I worked at a body shop years ago, one of my jobs was to wash the car when the customer was on the way to pick it up.
It's possible they didn't get time to wash yours. Why? Could be lots of reasons. Too back up with work? You showed up too soon?

Glad you got your Monte back.

Looks like they washed it, and the buffing compound drifted onto mine from another area? Is that possible? Anyway, it rinsed off clean. Now I'm starting to OCD about a gap between the bumper and that rear valance part over the exhaust pipes. Can anyone with an 06-07 look and see if you have a thin chrome insert that fits in there? I SWEAR there was one, but now it's just a gap. starting to get mad already.

no thin chrome insert, mine's got a little bit of a gap near the corners of that piece.
