Default High Sport Trim on Bumpers

Does anyone have any experience installing the High Sport front and rear fascia extension pieces to non-High Sport bumpers? I ran into a decent rear bumper trim piece at the junkyard today and am not sure how possible it is to install on my standard 2004 SS. The bumper itself was gone and the trim piece was left there. By looking at the front bumper it seems that there are specific slots on the bumper to install these trim pieces. I am considering going back tomorrow for the front piece. But can this installation be done on my regular SS without these slots? I can take the entire front bumper, but unfortunately there is a crack in it right above the emblem on the passengers side. The side skirts are there as well, but I am cannot tell if they are any different than the ones that came with my SS (seems slightly different). I am not sure what is the better idea currently. Any advice or input is appreciated!

I meant to reply to this and must have forgot so its probably too late now but you need those slots for the install. People have done it before and its just takes some time with a dremel saw. They dont need to be perfect but they cant be too small, slightly too big is ok. The side skirts are different but I think those use the existing clips and are a serious pain. They break very easily and need to be lined up as you put the sides on. I think I remember seeing a couple screws need to be added somewhere also.
