i know that the car im talkign about isnt a monte but maybe you can help me
my grandma has like a mid 90's lincoln continental with the 4.6 v8 and when i started it up the other day i put it into reverse and it wouldnt move unless i hit like 4,000rpms then it would move slowly... and it did the same for drive..
any ideas?

you cant check the torque converter fluid by the dip stick ,also if you dont check it how the dip stick tells you to it could be a bad reading, hot at ilde or cold could be either one, also a lot of people when the do maintance changing the tranny fluid they only change the pan fluid, i always have both changed it cost more and uses alot more tranny fluid but it insures you a complete transmission fluid change
