Everyone suggesting the G8, these run 20k+, well over my budget.

GTO or G8 ftw.
This is the only automotive forum I belong to, thought you guys would have some insight. I've owned 2 Montes, I do not want another.

Quick thoughts: v-6 Malibu (250ish hp), Infiniti G35, v-6 Nissan Maxima, Impala SS, Bonneville GXP, not sure if they were made in 06... know they were made in 05

May I suggest a Mazdaspeed6 or a Speed3. Very quick cars. The speed6 is AWD, turbo, 6 speed and a very nice ride. Plus you can haul people around as its a 4 door. The speed 3 has the same motor but is FWD and has a 6 speed as well. Can be had in your price range and are usually taken care of by their owners. Oh yeah and mazdas handle superb!

Hes probably tired of owning monte carlos. Not everyone wants to keep owning the same vehicle over and over, especially if they dont make new ones.

GTO is a great choice, but a nice 6 speed maxima would be a good choice

You are correct. I am just ready for something different. So far the GTO and Bonneville GXP sound the best. My dad is a 30 year GM veteran, so it's hard to buy anything non-GM.

You choice but GTO only has speed. I never liked the style. The back is to much quarter pannel not enough tire and wheel. The Bonneville GXP is real sharp tho.
