ya know, i've always wondered why gm made pontiac the "sportier" of the brands. . . anyone know?

 

Since the first production muscle car was the '64 Pontiac LeMans GTO I would imagine it was to carry on the muscle car legacy they created.

 

I had a guy telling me "that car isn't even that nice .....it's not even fast. Best part about it was he rides a bike and don't even have a car. I agree with Jester, Haters Gonna Hate.

 

i love the ones that say they're ugly. I don't care, it's not a mustang LOL I really do like the looks of the monte, but i'm more a fan of not seeing one on every block. Now that i've got the v8, all anyone can say is that it's FWD. . . . in which case i ask them how they get along in the snow sometimes, nebraska weather isn't all bad

All know is 3 weeks ago I test drove a 04 GTP with the L67, all I can say is I love my Monte !

 

don't the monte interiors just feel so much more updated? they do to me at least

 

That slanted windshield drove me crazy plus the leg room and that hard *** steering wheel ! LOl

 

In 04 the GP GTP didn't come with an L67, it came with an L32 (which is better).

The 8 second ZZP GP isn't really a Grand Prix anymore though. It's a tube chassis car with a GP shell and drivetrain in it. Intense Racing use to have a similar 8 second GP, but they sold it a few years ago.

As far as the OP's story, there's no reason the guy in the GP should have been talking crap, if it's stock at least. If it's modified though, then watch out. An L67 with just a cai, headers, and a 3.4" pulley would beat an LS4 Monte. Also, don't claim to have more hp then you do because someone who knows these cars could think poorly of you. You're probably looking at 310-315hp with those mods.

Regardless, you should have raced him. Even if he was modified, it wouldn't have taken much to beat a car with 5 guys in it, lol. That's a lotta weight.
