Yesterday was a sad day, I took my Monte back to the dealer I bought it from and surrendered it. Had the 06 6 cylinder, and apparently inherited a lot of issues. Since October had been in the shop 5 times, and cost over 1500 and had broken down again. Is this common for the 6 cylinders, or did I just have really bad luck?

 

Sounds like bad luck. I've owned a few GM's w/6-cylinder 3800's since the 80's (two Buick's and a Monte). All have been great. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

What were all the issues you experienced with it? Very curious to know because I have a 3.9, 06 Monte........

 

Sounds like you had a bad one. It was probably made on a Friday.

All Monte Carlos 1995-2007 were assembled in the Oshawa plant Ontario Canada.

 

Sorry to hear about your luck, what did you end up with?

 

Picking up a 96 Camaro tomorrow. I would have loved another Monte, but I couldn't find any that were worth anything around me. I may work on getting another one some day, but for now it's going to be the Camaro that gets me around.
