I always hate when people think FWD and AWD are the god sent for winter driving. I prefer RWD in winter because it's more controlled. If I slide I know how my vehicle will react and you can harness the slide to make sharper turns if needed to avoid getting stuck. The monte shakes both ways in a slide making correcting without over adjusting and recreating the slide almost impossible, and AWD is really only good for getting good traction to get moving and for not getting stuck and just spinning your tires. It doesn't increase traction while cornering.

The only reason I'm not afraid of owning the cobalt, even given it's lightness, is that I'll be at Michigan State next year, so I won't be doing much winter driving. On a side note, before I got my monte I looked at nsrt's and my dad said absolutely not. One of my closest friends got one like six months ago and they're very fun cars for sure

But the F-Bodies are so low that anything over like 4" of snow is just not doable haha

My GTO sets alot lower than a F-body so if it can go in snow any F-body can

Oh wow. That sucks dude I'm sorry about that. It's good though that you're safe. It sounds like your monte went to the grave taking care of you. Best of luck in deciding which car to get.
