RE: Gone But Not Forgotten Monte Carlos

:(My Monte gave its life protecting me in a rollover accident a few days ago =[. I made it out walking, but really sore/stiff.. It's a sad day and now I'm looking for a new car.. I know it will be a 2 door coupe. I might go with a mustang or something similar, but I am definately looking at newer + better Monte Carlos. I know my car wasn't a gem or anything, but I loved it! It had that first car sentimental value :(. I'm just glad I made it out alive and can keep livin my life :)

Glad you're OK. It's always a dark, sad day when a Monte gets totaled.

well as far as i know i havent said to much abotu it here.
But i had and still pine over my 03 SS. I had put ALOT of time and money in to it. But others seemd to think it was thiers to take what they wanted out of it. Several times over the years i owned. Also after the last time fixing it i felt a grinding in teh front end after the tranny flush and filter change so i have to belive that the tranny was starting to go.
Anyway i have a proposition given to me the monte for my Harley (now in Sig below) We could not do both so the pain of watching the monte being tore up al the time i decided it was time to go. I still love and always will love the montes with the 1st&3rd &6th gens being the ones closest to me. I have owned at least one of each and the 3rd gens i have had 8 (if i counted them right) So some day i will ge tthe white rhino the 1978 T-Top floor shift with full power. black on black.

thanks for your concerns :) I got out fine, and the pain is getting alot better. And ya, the more I think about it, the more I'm moving away from a mustang. The most important thing I want is reliabilty, and decent power without breaking the bank on gas. That said, I would REALLY love a new monte :)

RE: Gone But Not Forgotten Monte Carlos

Here's the Monte I had. It was a 1999 Z34. I loved that car. I had to get rid of it because it hadn't been treated too well before I bought it and the rust underneath was absolutely ATROCIOUS. EVERYTHING was rusted - and I mean everything. It was nearly impossible to do any work on the thing because every bolt/nut was rusted bad enough it broke off. It was just too scary to drive/work onthe thing. It's too bad too because it was a really nice car. I still miss the car today. Everytime I see a black Z34, I have to look and it reminds me of my car.
