My first pick would be a 1970 SS 454 and all the options, But since that would be a nice weekend car The 2007 SS is what I would drive daily.

Hi Ty,
Great Choice, then you could have the 1st Gen & the Last.
Below is some information I found on the 1970 Monte
[:-]
Comments: The 1970 Monte Carlo was introduced on September 18, 1969, but drew only a cool reception from enthusiast magazines who were still caught up in muscle car mania. But the Monte Carlo, which was only available as a four person luxury two door coupe, was a hit with buyers, who snatched up 145,975 examples. Monte Carlos were based on the Chevelle but rode on an 116 inch wheelbase and had the longest hood ever fitted onto a Chevrolet. All Monte Carlos came with at least a 350 cubic inch V8, but any big block Chevelle engine was available. At the top was the Monte Carlo SS454, which 3,823 buyers snatched up, which came with the mighty Chevy 454 block. The SS45 package, option Z20, included the 454 big block engine, a heavy duty suspension, "SS454" badging on the rocker panels and deck lid, a remote control sport mirror, thin black rocker panel stripes, heavy-duty battery, automatic level control suspension, air shocks, dual chrome exhaust extensions, 15x7 inch Rally wheels, and GTO-15B white stripe tires. The vast majority of the SS454 came with the LS-5 454 engine, rated at 350 bhp. But about 10 were snuck out of the factory with the LS-6 454 engine, rated at 450 bhp. A very few four speed Monte Carlo SS454s were made too.

Production: SS454: 3,823
Engines: 454 V8 360 bhp, 500 lb-ft @ 3,200 rpm. 454 V8 450 bhp.
Performance: 454/360: 0-60 in 7.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 16.2 seconds @ 90 mph.

I like the '72, '86, and, of course, the '02 models.

Myself, I would go with the 86-88 style monte. They always had a place in my heart. Just the sunk in headlights.

I'm very happy with mine, but wouldn't push away a Black with red trim 86.

I already have the generation I want... 1976 Landau. As soon as I can finally get the body work and paint done, she's going to be a summer driver. For an everyday driver I'dlike to getan '04 Dale Jr. Edition. However, with my budget I'd be happy with any generation for a daily driver that was under the $2500 mark.

I'd love to have a Monte Fleet like cort does. But having a fleet of "Other" cars it's just not possible.

Any gen I wanted.......... I sure wouldn't kick an '87/88 SS or an '86/87aerocoupe out of my driveway.

The first gen Montes are nice. I always like them. Even the second gensare nice. Almost bought a nice light blue one the owner wanted $1,000 for. And the '00-05 cars are pretty nice.

When the '00 came out I could see a lot of the '81-88 Montes in their styling. I knew I wanted one but was sure it would be 2010 before I could afford a 2000 Monte. Only thanks for God did things in my life change and for the better. Cause now I own (okay, paying on) my '06 LTZ.
