For future reference, Wikipedia has a pretty good article about the Monte Carlo that breaks down all the various generations and has photos of Montes from each gen:
Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Before the comment comes up. Wikipedia shows 06 & 07 Montes as being 6th gen. GM also considers them 6th gen officially. We call them 7th gen here on this forum out of a choice we made ourselves. Because of the many differences between them and the 2000 - 2005 models.
