five favorite mods on your monte?
1. 18" Impala LTZ wheels wrapped in 235/50ZR18 Dunlop Direzza tires with yellow painted lettering.
2. Metallic silver flag decals down the side and metallic silver painted ground effects. (Painted ground effects is a much cheaper route than buying the SS lip kit)
3. Touchscreen DVD head unit with E-brake signal bypass as well as back-up camera park assist and upgraded interior speakers, plus 10" sub-woofers in the trunk.
4. Aftermarket gauges in a triple pillar pod on the A-pillar and a digital voltmeter built in to the dash board. (All have blue LED lighting)
5. Metallic silver painted engine cover with red painted accents. (The red painted engine mounts, diagonal braces and STB with a silver air intake box and red couplers make it all pop)

Wow, definitely a thread back from the dead. It's a good one to bump though!
Here are mine:
-L67 swap. 160 hp was one of the worst things about the car, especially with a full sound system and friends in the car. Even a stock l67 would've been a huge improvement, but I swapped mine in fairly heavily modded already.
-Coilovers. The stock suspension was good enough for comfortable cruising, I've got no real complaints there. However, coilovers changed the feel of the car almost as much as the l67 swap. Stiffer springs, adjustable height, more sporty struts, etc etc made the car feel so much more sporty. Plus, Im a bit of a tinkerer, so I love fiddling with ride heights based on the day.
-Whipple. I like having something different, and this is kind of the holy grail for 3800s. Sure a few people have made them work, but none local. The big blower on top of the monster IC draws way more compliments than just the l67 swap alone ever did. Sure, it'll never touch a hardcore turbo build, but IMO it's plenty for FWD.
-IS3 blower cam. This is another one that really changed the experience of the car. Sure a stock l67 is peppy, but the 3800 is one of the worst sounding engines I know. With a relatively big cam, it sounds so sweet at idle and I love how it shakes the car. Sure mid range sounds gets crappy, but it always puts a smile on my face when I first fire it up or when sitting at a stop light. If I'm ever back in that part of the engine, it's getting a bigger custom cam.
-Powrtuner. I know it's not really a mod to the car directly, but I have friends with other platforms that would kill for this much adjustability, especially for a couple hundred bucks. As I mentioned, I'm a tinkerer, so I love being able to keep refining parts I'm not happy with to make it better.
