is this even in the slightest bit possible??
No, you can do them...
I was just looking at them the other day.
AutoLoc Switch Blade Flip Key System - NO REMOTE - FLIPKEY ONLY - « autoloc.com
not worth it to me, it's just a key, but it's still cool
just keep the other fob that you currently have
or you can get this but you may need the other control module

thanks for all the feedback you guys!
okay would it be more realistic to get one of these?

my main objective behind this is because i would like to eventually have a remote start installed, and i want to have a spot on my remote for that. rather than having to hold down the "unlock" button for it to start like ive seen on some 2000 impalas. (and i dont really want an aftermarket remote for it!)

Being as it it just a signal you can probably get a dealership to match the key to the signal of your fob. I mean if I can use a cell phone to unlock a car you can get that key to match the fob. and if the key has just a straight piece of metal and no other junk on it you could get it cut to match yours. I think it will work.
PS I really can unlock a car with a cell phone. Did it in physics class.
