5th Gen ('95-'99): euro lights?
#13
I have them in my car, and I might be the only one to ever own them who is more than 100% happy. HOWEVER, that is because I have done an HID Projector conversion. I have the euro housings which do look sweet, but I have retrofitted projectors into them because as it has been said before, the light output is HORRIBLE. It's like driving with two flashlights at night. If you throw HIDs in there, then it's just two brighter flashlights. The only way to justify the looks of these headlights is to put some projectors in them. Otherwise, you will be taking them out and swapping in your old headlights before long after you get sick of not being able to see at night.
I would do as Keane did. Get a new set of OEM headlights for your car. They actually look pretty good when they aren't old and discolored.

Euro lenses would be nice.
Just finished installing a Morimoto Mini H1 Projector into an OEM light. The cutoff is great and so is the color! I used a 55 watt 5k bulb. If you plan to do this, it's definitely not recommended to use 55 watt ballasts as they will melt your MH1. Also the cutoff loses a lot of definition when you use the OEM lense sadly, but you still do get a good cutoff.

Sorry for such the late reply here. I was looking through my emails and saw this thread opened up. Instead of going back to the OEM lenses, I found a guy on the internet who will actually make acrylic lenses. It's basically the same OEM lense without all of the fresnel grids. I should be getting the lenses back within the next week or so and I'll post some picture if anyone wants to see. Like I said I would recommend the the MH1. I'm using a ~43 watt ballast on a 35 watt 5k bulb and the color is great. It's not like a stock 4300k color but more like a 4800k color. Just about as solid white as it gets.
