Engine cover paint questions
So one thing I have on my to do list is to paint my engine cover. Right now it's just a plain black. I was thinking of doing like a black and red 2 tone paint job or possibly a red and white 2 tone to match when I paint my ground effects white. Anyway, has anyone done this before? What paint should I be buying, as well as do I need a primer and clear coat? How many coats should I put on it? and any other tips or anything that you have would be awesome. Thanks everyone

Best thing to do is put lots of primer on it and let it set outside on hot days for a week or 2 so the primer will dry an shrink than you can wet sand it and itll remove the texture, any paint will work for painting, i use Dupont auto paint on the covers i do, just take your time

The engine cover is there to quiet down the engine and hide parts, it doesn't get hot enough to require high heat stuff.
Check out this how-to thread from a grand prix forum. I had to use the wayback machine to view it, because the current site seems to error out.
