Heyy guys! Sooo I told my bf that I would paint his engine cover for his Bonneville for the upcoming car shows & I'm kinda stumped. I'm not really sure what color scheme we should go for. So yeah I kinda would love your guys' help on this one. BTW his car is a white 02 SE Bonn

Or I though about doing the humps white like the above pic but also maybe painting the Series II white also??
Or I even thought about doing it all white with black & red lettering & all but I'm afraid that it would always look dirty or something. IDK any ideas or suggestions are highly appreciated. Just tell me whatever way you guys think I should go. I gotta decide in like 2 days though so I can get it done by this weekend. Thanks!

Oh & btw since we are on the Bonneville & all I was wondering if anyone may have any good ideas for wheels for a white Bonneville...? I'll prob make a separate thread for this later but for now I'll just get a general idea on here lol

 

any accent color on the Bonne? Whats in the interior color? I'm thinking of an all white cover, and do the numbers in an accent color

as for Wheels, I like the newer Bonne GXP wheels...

 

well we are trying to decide if we wanna go with a black theme or chrome theme. he has the stock chrome accents on the car for now & the interior is like a smoke grey color. oh & its got all the red on the back bcuz of the tail lights & all

 

i think most anything would look better than stock. i like it when peple use the same color as the paint.

personally i would stay away from "chrome" on plastic. although it looks great on stb's, diagnal braces, and dogbones.

is he gonna paint those? i think when there all uniform it looks great.

maybe a candy red for the accent.

 

i would deff do the base color of it white to match the car & than do the lettering in either black, red or maybe blue

Oh & a couple notes:
the windows are fixed so no more blue tape lol
we are thinking about tinting the tails & heads but we're not sure if itll look good with the chrome theme
his heads will be clear & all clean by this weekend
& hes getting the windows tinted in like 2 weeks
&& i think thats it for now lol

 

i honestly cant remember if he has brace bars & all that jazz like what we have lol if he does i'm sure he'll paint them. He's going to be getting a supercharger too soon so eventually this cover wont fit anyway lol. but yeah i thought the white would look really sharp but i wasnt quite sure if it was just me or what

 

All white cover with the buldges black to make it look like the intake runners are running through the engine cover. Then red letters.

 

Yeah, I say completely white with black lettering would look good! Theres not much you can do with this style engine cover, but it would look nice and clean!
