You must have a 3.4 in that. They are only 180 at the crank, so 20% driveline loss is usually a good estimate.

Wow! I wonder if they over-rate horsepower like they do fuel mileage?

There much be something wrong with the car or dyno. I can't see it loosing over 50hp to driveline loss....no way!

Hi Rich,
I think they did the test wrong,[:@] or their testing dyno was way `off.[:@]
I would ask for another test, & ask about the calibration of their equipment.
Thanks for sharing. I will do a search, & see if I can find other 3.8L that
have been tested.
Your Awesome ~ Monte Carlo of the Year ~,
sure looks a lot faster : )
~ Peace ~

Engine and Engine Component Testing

Automotive Research has the ability to perform a wide variety of engine dynamometer based development and durability programs. Dynamometers with horsepower ranges up to 600 hp are used in conjunction with gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel engines. Automotive Research’s automated test stands offer precision control of testing parameters including engine air temperature and humidity, speed, load, temperatures, pressures, and flows.
