Does anyone have the 6th Gen LS Sport?
Chevrolet had a few variations of the 6th gen Monte, but the one you never seem to see is the LS Sport models, as mentioned in the brochure
linked below, they had " LS SPORT APPEARANCE FEATURES:
16-inch, five-spoke Sport aluminum wheels
Race-inspired spoiler
Available in Bright Red, Black, White or Galaxy Silver Metallic "
it was described by the brochure as such "Those with a longing for the sportier side of refinement need look no further than Monte Carlo LS with
the optional Sport Appearance Package. Its an agile combination of graceful style and powerful attitude.
Indulge your passion for driving with racy exterior features. This is elegance with an edge"
From my research the LS Sport was pretty much the Competition Yellow Package but without the 16 inch Diamond Cut Rims as seen on the SS High Sport models, all black badges, and pinstriping
So i ask... LS Sport gang show yourself!!!

The LS Sport had the vertical spoiler (which these cars NEED a spoiler, be it the vertical or the surfboard, no spoiler is plain UGLY). They actually said in that brochure, offered in colors Bright Red, Black, White or Galaxy Silver Metallic. And the wheels in the pic, you are right, not the diamond wheels, but the same ones that my ex-wife had on her base model 2005 Impala.
The "High Sport" package is the vertical spoiler, the diamond spoke wheels and a different set of ground fx. But not all SS models had High Sport. Both the Montes I own are SS models, lack the HS ground effects, came with what I call "salad shooter wheels" and a surfboard spoiler.
If you are interested in statistics for these cars, this is a good book to get:

Gotta disagree with ya on that, I don't like the spoiler on the SS and opted for an LS, with the wheels that no one has. I saw one just like mine in a yard a few years ago - same color, same wheels - I went back a few weeks later and the wheels were gone. My front wheels have brake dust on them, and I can't get it off!

Yep, no spoiler, plain wheels - in about 3 weeks I will have had it for 23 years, I bought it new. It was my 40th birthday present, weather was good enough last year that I could drive it on my last day of work - on my first day there in 1982, I drove my 76 Monte. Life is good.

Just looked, the pic is 15 years old, it's a little worse for wear. Still my daily driver, although I have no reason to drive daily now. I had to re-bottom it twice, and I don't drive it in the winter anymore. I bought a Buick for that, but have since got an old Silverado and unloaded the Buick. Still only 96K on it. Only ever had the intake gaskets replaced, and a security bypass. Other than that, 23 years of trouble free service.

Congrats on both long ownership as an original owner of your Monte AND on your retirement last year (and starting and ending work with a Monte).
