Of course I service it regularly. How else do you think I've been able accumulate more than 500,000 miles on my '74 Monte Carlo I've been driving for the last 37 years? In fact, this weekend, I'll be replacing the air filter for the vapor carbon canister and the rubber hose that leads from it to the tank. How many of you knew that thing has its own air filter?
Hardly one week goes by where I don't open the hood and at least check fluids. Back in the old days when gas stations were called service stations, it was recommended fluids be checked at each fill-up. Just for good measure, while the hood's up, may as well check the belts, hoses, air cleaner hold down nut, etc. Every morning I go to work, I make one quick stroll around the car with the lights on to make sure they're all working. I keep extra bulbs on hand in my garage just to be able to replace them on the spot.

 

If I could just do half of that once a year, I'd be doing more. Actually I used to be a lot better at preventive maintenance, but lately I just wait for stuff to break. The last smart thing I did was buy belts before they might break for 3 cars all 2007 models with original belts. Those were Daycos I got off amazon about 6 months ago.
