Default Differences in 06' and 07' SS's

OK, so I've been searching local ads, autotrader, craigslist, etc. I think I may be a few months away from actually breaking down and buying something. What, if any, differences are there between the 06' and 07' SS's? Obviously the 07' is the last year and would be a good point in the overall desirability at least to me for the car. But what "real" differences are there?

in 2007 they dropped the 3.9L engine, and only used the 3.5.

Also they did away with the LTZ model.

So if you are looking at just SS models, there is no difference. But if you are looking at a Monte Carlo LT, the engine will be different.

LS is the same for both years, and the LTZ obviously only exists in 2006.

New for 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo adds a tire-pressure monitor, a FlexFuel badge for all 3.5-liter 3500 V6-equipped models, standard 17-inch alloy wheels on LT, new 7.0 Generation OnStar system with Turn-by-Turn navigation, and four new exterior colors. The Monte Carlo SS receives a standard XM Satellite Radio and an optional Rally Stripe package. The LTZ model and 3.9-liter V6 engine has been discontinued.

There are some super prices on Monte Carlo's
and especially 06-07 SS's
Over 50% off MSRP, and I believe the prices
will stabilize after the major first two year depreciation `hit.

Clean/maintained Monte's hold their resale value,
and I think limited Monte's will increase in value
every year.

Ok thanks guys, so maybe standard XM and available stripe package on the 07 appears to be the only difference. Are there any common problems/issues with either year that have surfaced yet. Like the notorious intake problems with the 3.8 or anything like that.

intermediate steering shafts and high pressure power steering lines are common issues also. I've had to deal with both so far.

i do not know many differences but yes they did drop the 3.9 in 07. also i tried to get my 07 LT with dual exhaust, but it wasn't available from what i know (just on the SS). i'm not sure, but were the 06s offered with the 5yr 100k mile powertrain warranty? i would have liked an 06 with the 3.9 and dual exhaust, but the powertrain warranty looked pretty attractive, plus all the 07s i looked at had lower miles. most of the 06s i looked at had up around 30-35k, so basically, i was paying a little more for the 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty. that came in handy when i had to change the ISS at 35k! just in time!! haha.
