well the software you obviously have to have a lap top and the programmer is just plug and play, thats the biggest difference cost wise, but if you already have a lap top then i would imagine that the software one would be more bennificial for you with more things to play around with

I haven't had much experiance with HP Tuners yet, but I haven't heard anything negative about them. I have personally had 3 bad experiances with DHP and no resolution... much less a decent answer. This seems to be the common theme. They don't seem to answer anyones email. Through their forums are good.

I also like the HP Tuners price structure and the fact I can use it on more than 1 or 2 vehicles. With the HP Tuners you get get about 4 seperate vehicles on it for $500 instead of just 2 with the DHP and you are done... no upgrades, buy yourself a new one.

The HP Tuners you can hook up tons of vehicles on and that is my plan. Not this check, but next one I'm ordering mine and unlocking all 2004 Monte's with a 3800. Not sure what I'll do with the other ones.

you'd figure those tuners would work on the 2000 seeing as though its the same car, i wonder if they just left 2000 out of the description by accident, have you actually tried one??

I missed your email post. I would check with them again. I noticed they just released a whole new supported vehicle list earlier this month.
