Default Dale Jr. Signature Series MC performance

Can anybody tell me what this car performs like. Is it fast? I always loved the way the car looked but wondered how it performs? I know there's a couple board members that own one. Any track times or kill stories. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I like it. I've never had it at the track, but it should be high 14's. Stock it has 240 HP with 280ft/lbs of torque. Performs as well as any of the V6 Monte's out there, or pretty well any V6. Will keep up with old V8 that are stock and there are many readily available easily bolted on mods to make it faster. What else you need to know? Drive one.

I love my junior car, and I'm not really a nascar fan. I've owned it since the start of summer and its by far the best car I've owned as well as my 1st monte. Its looks awesome and is extremely fun to drive. Very quick for a V6 and there's a huge aftermarket for it. I also love all the extras, heated seats, dual climate control, xm, premium sound, nice wheels...the list goes on. The stock sound system is awesome too.

I haven't brought it to the track yet, but hopefully will by the spring once I get a set of rockers and a powerlog installed. I've had a few quick red light race kills, but not with anything special. The upper end is pretty quick too, especially with the few mods I've done. When passing your up to 90+mph before you know it, lol. It does get a lot of looks driving around town and most of my family love it

I did kill an early 2000's turbo Subaru WRX shortly after buying it. It was at a red light and only to 60mph, but I had 2 car lengths on him before we had to slow down. He looked pissed and that made it all the better

The JR cars are just like any other L67 powered car, with easily only $1000-$1500 spent, you could run great times and be near 280-300 crank HP

Yeah, but the stripes and #8 adds extra HP Mike. LOL.

I've had mine for two years. Mechanically the 2004 Dale Jr car is the same as all the other supercharged 2004 & 2005 Monte Carlo's. The Dale Jr edition is an appearance package. But a very nice appearance package that I get a lot of compliments on.

I love the performance of these cars. Tons of fun to drive! But they very easily over-power the traction of the tires on wet roads. Even on dry roads, you would benefit from a better traction tire. Becareful if you're thinking of hot-******* in one of the SS Montes.

i agree, I'm always squealing the tires and never mean too. If you give it too much throttle going less then 20ish, the tires break loose, even on dry ground. I'm saving for a better summer tire to put on this spring, but for now I got my studded snows on

I paid a fortune for mine 2 and a half years ago. No decals, no mods, only 30,000 kms and it was $20,500 Canadian. It did still have bumper-to-bumper warranty for a year, but I never needed it. After I test drove it I knew I would never really be happy with another Monte, so that's the price I had to pay (actually my wife pays for it!)
