Default Crossbar Question

Just wondering if a crossbar kit like this one would be of any use on my monte??

they make one specificly for the 3400 and it is raised on one side to clear the alternator. not sure if the dom romes brackets will work for that application.

im going to get a similar one after i figure out how many bushings need to be replaced. lol i'm very ****.

oh i wasnt talking about getting that same exact one in the picture, if thats what youre saying. thats exactly what i was asking though, if they do make one for the 3400. but i mean what are the benefits of having this? are there any downsides to it?? thanks

its called a STRUT TOWER BRACE, STB for short, and yes theres a slew of benafits. it keeps your strut towers from deflecting[one moving higher than the other. it gives your car a firmer feel, and helps keep you grounded when cornering at higher speeds.

happy b-day, its like 20 bucks, plus brackets, plus labor. the brackets make installation 10 times easier.

well im confused now. i have that on there already, but its held on by two plastic screws. the brakets youre talking about, are those the yellow round pieces on the pic above?? cause i mean i can move that bar around even when its scerwed down? do you know where i can get those brakets (if thats what youre saying i need?)

and i got a question thats way off topic here, but id rather not make a new thread just to ask one question and get a quick answer. ive been hearing about knock and KR, what exactly is that?? liek when i hit the gas and let it run till about 4000, and if i let off the gas real quick it lets out a couple pops, is that what you all are always talking about?? is that popping bad for my car??

knock retard, from what i understand is when your engine pulls timing and runs everything slower[less power], to compinsate for bad sensors or misses.

i would assume popping is never good. sounds like your getting some unburned fuel in your cat, but what do i know. hopefully someone with a brain will jump on this.

Read that for information about KR. It's a really good read.

STB, if you already have one, congrats. They came from the factory for a bunch of Montes (mine included) then in the later years they stopped putting them in. Yours is on with screws because it was like that from the factory, people use brackets so they don't have to drill into their strut top plate when they didn't come from the factory.
