i just went out and got the papers out of my monte and i remembered it had the original sticker from january 11, 2006 and it said the car is a 2006 monte carlo 3LT coupe, i thought i had just an LT, so i guess i'm a little surprised by this, but i knew i had 17 inch wheels and a 3.9 motor, so i guess i just aanswered my own question?? see ya

The higher the number, the more the options and then the model code is the engine.
There was also an LTZ in 2006, which had the 3.9L engine and every available option (minus the 18" rims)
