Yep. It's on a 3300 engine, so I don't know if the length of the dog bone is right for the 3400/3800 in the more modern W-bodies. This was something I considered for the quest of solid bushings (and again, the aluminum dones could be polished).
I think I gave up on it because: - I did not like the look of the LONG radiator mount - WBodyStore offered a sweet mount/bushing kit on Black Friday The alum. mounts I have would go perfect with the polished dogbones ZZP offers, once I get mine polished of course lol :p |
so i decided to start sanding the mounts :p
after 60, 150, and 220 grit :) it's definitely going to be far from great looking but it should look "ok". This is something you do not want to be doing with just your hands haha A dremel and sanding tips would make this a TON easier! :o as you can see there will be some imperfections here and there but i dont want to spend too much time on them. I'll only be polishing the most visible areas of the mount like the top :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/fd9dfa0d.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/538d9607.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/683e82a2.jpg up next is 400 grit follow by wetsand 800, 1000 and 2000 grit haha then the polishing  |
Those are gonna look nice frank

So i decided to do wet sand 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 grit lol :p
800 http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/d10e8c1d.jpg 1000 http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/07220c06.jpg 1500 http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/fea97a36.jpg 2000 http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/efd609a1.jpg 2500 http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/e45b3004.jpg And finally the polish!! :) http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/146b531c.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/6457e6e8.jpg http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/f366d9ea.jpg and as you can see, some of the areas that didnt turn out so well :p it would've turned out great but like i said i didnt want to spend too much time on them haha also because i still dont know if i'll even use them :rotfl::p it took me 3-4 hours total to do one :p http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/a...F/9b67d6dd.jpg |
