Any car that isn't clean looks like crap. I don't care how much a person will argue with a silver car that it "hides" the dirt, you lose the shine and that's the most important part.
Every color loses the shine when it's dirty, I like the black because it shows the dirt. It's so easy to know if I missed a spot

Standard car soap and a microfiber cloth, then dry it with my chamois. (once a week lol)
Every spring it gets a clay bar and wax. Then I try to keep a good wax every other month.

You must just be very experienced at washing the car, just right. I need to develop some sort of method to it. When I wash my car I can get it to come out nice and shiny, real fine looking actually, but not brand new, and when you look close enough you will still notice swirl marks, or other spots. Maybe red just showed its wear worse than other colors.
