All 00-07 Monte Carlos were made in Canada

 

I have a 1996 Lumina and a 1999 Monte - and they were also made in Canada. (Ontario - I believe). I wonder how far back you have to go to find one made in the good old USA.

 

late 80s i believe.
And being built in Canada is better than some other options.
But I believe they are just assembled in Ontario, many components still built elsewhere.

My 2 older brothers worked at the plant in St.Catharines ON Canada that did build the engines. A few hours away from Oshawa where the cars were assembled.

 

The 1995 L/S we have is made in Canada. Went to Auto Zone the other day to have them plug their scanner into it so we could read a code, and they don't have the Canadian plug !!

 

Are you sure it's not just the fact that your car is OBD1.5 and they probably tried to use an OBD2 scanner?

 

My 85 was build in canada

 

I know for a fact that all 95+ Montes were assembled in Canada. I don't know anything about where the 4th gens and older Montes were assembled.

 

Sence i reassembled my monte after the wreck & replaced all panels can i say it was made in the usa?
