Default Check out this sweet 88!

So, when I was at my car show yesterday, my fiance stayed home to try and swipe out the muffler on my 03. Well, a neighbor from down the street saw him working on my car and said he wants to sell his 88 Monte that he and his wife special ordered brand new! They are retiring down south in a year and they don't want to take the car with them. We test drove it today and OMG it is like brand new. There is absolutely no wear anywhere. It is a mint as mint can be! Now I have to try and persuade my fiance to buy it! It really seems like the guy really wants us to have the car - he knows it will be well cared for.

It as never seen rain or snow! In 3 years it will be an antique and I could enter it in this huge survivor show they have here! It's all original - the paint isn't cracking anywhere!!!!

One of the Bum's was check'in `out the MCF
and he came & woke me `up from my power nap
to tell me about your posted 88 S.S.

Amy, that's a super/super find 4-Sure.
That would be a sweet Monte to have `if the price is right.
I think it's a great InVestment, but it's to nice for
a daily `driver.. I would want to drive it all the time, plus
I'd want to mod `it & that would really hurt the value.

What do you think it is worth ?
Please let us know what you decide...You will have to
extend your garage 4-Real

Thanks for posting/sharing , it was worth
waking `up to see, but like I told the `Bum's,
it's not like your awesome post/pic's were going
2 `be deleted... lol

EnJoy 4 really $ure

We don't want to low ball the guy but it really isn't worth much money right now in this economy. I honestly don't think the 4th gens are ever going to be worth much probably due to the lack of performance. My fiance would probably buy it for 10K. Even when we sold our 85 SS with a really expensive paint job, we only got 12,500. It was nowhere near the condition of the 88 but I hope my fiance makes an offer. And if we do buy it - it's not going to be touched - no mods or anything - it's showroom new. It's like it was kept in a time capsule.

Default nice 88

Amy , that is a very nice opportunity....go for it if you can ?
Are there any more on your street like that ? I'm moving up there
if that's the case...
Yeah..don't touch it. Just leave that one alone except maybe for the
tires and battery and other basic needs. Does it smoke any ?
Check the seals around the T-Tops ...I'm sure you have, But that stuff can rot over time.
Beautiful car !

Since it's never been in the rain we have no idea if the T-Tops leak. Even has the original tires! If my fiance is serious about buying this, he would find another set of rims and put new tires on them and save the originals for special shows.

Default Awesome 88!!!

That is SUCH an UNBELIEVABLE find!! Did the OD say 15,000 original miles?? WOW!! It's white with grey interior, which is PERFECT!! I like them a lot, but not too particular to the burgandy interior that most come with. Definetly this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you need to consider. I sure would! I can't wait to see what happens... and be sure IF you get it, MORE PICTURES!!

Yep 15,000 miles! Our 85 had the burgundy interior and even without T-Tops, the tops of the seats were faded. I just have to convince my fiance to buy it and keep it. He has a tendency to buy cars and flip them. This one is just to special to flip. I wish I had the money to buy it myself.
