Default Changing a battery...

Such a simple thing. But I've yet to do this with my monte. So let me get this straight...

I have to take off the engine bar so I cantake my battery out? That's the easy way to this?

That's what the dealership did when I bought the car. The battery went dead from sitting on the lot for 3 years. They removed the bar, changed the battery, then replaced the bar.

The factory doesn'tseem tocare about ease of serviceability. Only care about stuffing as much as they can in the small amount of space.

That's what I don't get. It's a freakin battery. It's going to be replaced at some point in an inconvienent situation. Removing that bar might not be too easy unless you carry about the proper tools. And who does that?

but anyways the bolts holding the bar are 13mm, and so is the battery hold down... how would the cross bar affect what tools you need?

....thats why i keep jumper cables in all my vehicles.

dead battery and a flat tire are the most likely suspects to leave you stuck, so be ready for it.
