I've installed my Casper fan switch and damn what a difference. My problem was sitting in traffic my temps would get up somewhere around the halfway point (I didn’t like that). But while driving normally at continuous speeds my temps would stay relatively low, around the quarter mark (That, I do like). Once I installed the switch I can keep my temps at the quarter mark whenever I want. (Even lower if I keep it on long enough) I recommend any fan switch, whether it is Casper’s or ZZP’s.
I think it’s a must for anyone who wants to keep the heat down. This is one I should have done long ago.

I had one on my Regal GSX. It did make a difference but I only can justify the fan if you race. In normal everyday traffic it isn't needed. The motor is made to heat up to a certain temp before the fans kick on normally.

 

Well my stocksetting didn't do nearly half the work my fans do now.
In traffic, my temps would stay near the half way point maybe more before the fans even turned on.

If you can keep your car cooler why not do it...At least that's how I figure it.
This is a must for anyone with headers. My SLP's get HOT sitting in traffic for an hour.

 

The headers are made to run in extreme temps as well. Your stock fans are programmed to turn on around 215-220. Keeping the engine running cooler really doesn't do alot for the engine itself as it's made to withstand extreme temps.

 

I understand that the headers and engine are made to run in extreme conditions and yes the computer will turn itself on. I get what your saying.
My point is, my engine gets heat soaked so If I can exit some of that heat, why not. So your telling me keeping the engine cooler will do nothing for the engine itself. Umm the last I checked cooler engine is better for everyting. Horsepower as well as reliability. Why do you think cars in Arizona go toish so fast ?

Personally for me, 220 is tohigh of a temp for my liking. My engine performance feels much better with the temps lower.

BTW if you haven't already noticed almosteverything on my caris overkill.
