Car smells like burning oil when I floor it?
I haven't smelt it personally, but I have a 06 LTZ and my friends have told me that when I put the pedal to the metal past them, they can smell a rancid burning oil smell from inside their car. I can't smell this and it only smells like that when I floor it. Is this normal for a car revving high or is there some sort of oil leak? It doesn't stink any other time and I can't smell it inside the car.

ask them if the see any smoke comming from the exhaust when you do it... how many miles? were u the first owner... the engine may have been broken in inproperly causing the rings not to seat right

Have you recently changed the oil, or had it changed? There is a possibility that oil was spilt, and got on the exhaust manifold. So now its burning off. Could only happen when you floor it because it gets so hot...

Then I would just drive it for a little longer before getting to worried. Sometimes they are bone heads, and spill it all over the place. I remember once when my moms Bonne was new, the dealer spilt an entire quart down the radiator, and front end of the car...what a mess!
You may want to do an engine wash. Wait till your engine is cool, and spray the whole thing down with some simple green (or something like it) and then let it soak in, and blast it clean. (cover your alternator with aluminum foil)
