Default Car smells like burning oil when I floor it?

I haven't smelt it personally, but I have a 06 LTZ and my friends have told me that when I put the pedal to the metal past them, they can smell a rancid burning oil smell from inside their car. I can't smell this and it only smells like that when I floor it. Is this normal for a car revving high or is there some sort of oil leak? It doesn't stink any other time and I can't smell it inside the car.

No black smoke otherwise I'm sure they would have mentioned that. 65,000KM, I was the second owner.

Have you recently changed the oil, or had it changed? There is a possibility that oil was spilt, and got on the exhaust manifold. So now its burning off. Could only happen when you floor it because it gets so hot...

MAMONTE, thats definitely possible, I just got it changed. blacksheep, jealous of what? haha. If its as simple as it just burning off because it was spilled than my conscious is much more at ease.

Then I would just drive it for a little longer before getting to worried. Sometimes they are bone heads, and spill it all over the place. I remember once when my moms Bonne was new, the dealer spilt an entire quart down the radiator, and front end of the car...what a mess!

You may want to do an engine wash. Wait till your engine is cool, and spray the whole thing down with some simple green (or something like it) and then let it soak in, and blast it clean. (cover your alternator with aluminum foil)
