Build/Swap almost complete
I started a build about 18 months ago and it is almost complete. I have asked for advise on this forum several times and was happily greeted and helped out several times which was exceptionally nice of everyone to try and help. I swapped out my LS4 in my '07 SS for a destroked turbocharged LS7. The entire build is on another forum. 2 links because it is almost 600 pictures. It can be viewed at www.UTDSM.org under general. I would have posted pix myself but I do not know how. There are a few things left to do before it is completely done and that should be in about a month. I know several of you have asked to see this when it was complete well this should pretty much do it until the article on my car is published in Hot Rod. I am excited about a life long dream I have always have and now I can share it with this forum knowing it will be appreciated. Thanks

All the badge work and interior gauges was done by Motor City Customs of Michigan. The stress cracks in the gauge pod have been temporarily repaired before a complete rework so it looks nice with no cracks showing. The car goes on a dyno probably in a week and at that time we will know exactly how much WHP I will have. I do know the Dart block is capable of 1300 HP but the tranny is not. It has been detuned somewhat. The red Monte is the other turbo'd car the shop built and if I am not mistaken it registered 568 WHP with his 3800. It made Super Chevy last month and he has his complete build in CarDomain. You can check his car out by locating his site through Paul's Auto's website @ www.paulsautoand4x4.com - His car inspired my build and fortunately I was able to learn from some design and equipment flaws made on his build saving me alot of time and money.

I don't know if he was trying to sell it or not - I do know him however we never spoke about the sale of the car. Seeing that GM does not make an LS7 for FWD cars I had to have a custom billet block made. Dart Machine made my block. It is a wet sump LS7 block just like in the corvette's (however I think they are all dry sumps for ground clearance purposes) only with a transmission bolt pattern that will mate up to the 4T65E-HD FWD transmissions that are in our supercharged 3800's and the LS4 V8's in our cars. A stock LS7 can be bolted to our transmissions with adaptor plates but there just was not enough room in the engine bay even for the added 1" for the adaptor - so the logical thing to do was make a block that would work.
