tire shine if you want it
i have come to find that if i apply my tire shine befor i wash the car i get the best most even results,
Insert money fill buckets(one just water, one carwash soap and water)
hose down car removing loose contaminates,
wash car, use water bucket to rince your wash mitt befor dunking it into the soap bucket again, helps keep any contaimates from staying on mitt and posibly scratching your paint
rinse down again
dry
funny thing is i didn't, she hasn't been waxed since car craft, all she got was a good wash, quick detailer and tireshine show you how well she was cleaned up for car craft!

In addition to what you are saying with car washing, I like to use the brush that they have for my tires
I also bring 2 microfibers to wash, this way I can use both hands at once, get it done a little quicker so the soap has less time to dry on the paint.
I would never let that brush touch my paint, but it makes a great tire scrubber haha

But great for tires!
That is also why you never want to use a automatic carwash like this
These are the only kind to use if you want to use a carwash, touchless is the only way when it comes to automatic, not as affective but wont mess up your paint

Any type of washjng is hard on your car. Touchless is he best route for auto washes. I recommend the lower2 packages, because they tend to mix all their chemicals together. None the less if you use one of these make sure you still polish and wax your car. What you do by hand is way better the the auto washes can do.
