Unhappy Broken monte

So i'm driving home today from some errands and i decide to put my foot down then i hear this noise and tons of slapping under my hood i'm like, great what did i break... Pull over open the hood, serpentine belt has begun shredding itself. So i'm like, great... home is like right around the corner so i limped home. I'll have to get it towed to the garage tommorow, i dont trust driving on a shredded up belt. Its still there but in bad shape

Ha and just when I said you weren't going to have any major break downs :p At least it is an easy fix.

The serpentine belt has nothing to do with the timing. All you need to do is follow the routing of the current belt. There should be a sticker on front of the car under the hood. They make a long tool for taking the tension of the belt tensioner but you can use a 1/2 inch breaker bar. Here's a link Replacing a Serpentine Belt - YouTube

Serpentine belt has nothing to do with the timing. It's a 5 minute job. You can do it!
