I notice a pulse from my friends 07 he has abs I don't. So I only can tell if I have a warped rotator is when I have been breaking hard and ended up doing some warping. I think it is a abs thing and didn't notice it till you did some maintenance. power breaks are rare on our cars so I doubt that you have the power break set up if you have traction control. it could be the traction control kicking in to prevent a skid as well.

Power brakes come standard on ALL of the some what newer Monte's. And ABS is more the norm than not on our cars...in fact, in the later models, I think ABS was standard on all models, even base.

Question: I know that when the Traction Control kicks in, the light on the dash comes on. But doesn't it also come on when the ABS kinks in?
I also think you have an ABS pulse. Which is going to happen if you are a Hard Braker. Do you get the pulse when you are soft on the brakes as well? And have you taken it to a Brake Specialist to back have it analized?

In my Monte, no, the traction control light does not flash when ABS is engaged. No lights flash when ABS is in action.

That being said, there are times when ABS is being used in junction with Traction Control, which may be why you are associated the light with both. For example: a wet road/ slick road way, you loose traction (traction control will flash) and you're braking with no traction, ABS will engage.

I can't speak for the '06/'07 models, but I know you can get Montes/Impalas as late as 2005 without ABS (but those are not very common).
