I wasn't sure what section to put this in so I figured I would put it here. Anyway, I recently just got my 06 Monte Carlo SS and on the back where the SS badge is I have a sticker from the place I got it from. What is the best way to get this off without hurting the paint?

 

WD-40 and let it sit then putty knife and it will practically fall off

 

a putty knife..... not on my car.......

 

If it hasnt been on there long it should peel right off

 

I used a razor and water. Just started it and got the remains with the razor. no damage but you have to have a really steady hand.

 

I peeled the lettering off then used a heat gun and rubbed the rest off

 

I do the heat and peel technique to remove everything. For the glue that is left over, I like using goof-off rubbing. Takes a good amount of elbow grease

Then you need to compound, polish, and wax that area really well

Never use WD-40 on your paint!
You wont have any paint left on your car!

Removeing a sticker thats on the paint is never good! I'd X2 with Mike (chibi) as far as removeing stickers off the paint!

I work at a body shop that does buses/ campers. We use the heat gun for everything, and if you have seen the size of some of the stuff we remove, you would trust me.
