Talking Back in Business

Awwww yeah I was finally able to fix, paint, and finish the aggravating dent in my front bumper. Funny how a little thing like that can make driving your car feel so much better...I feel like a million bucks cruising in my black beauty now

Now that that's done, it's time for some REAL upgrades! First step, exhaust and CAI...then we save up for a top swap and a new tranny

My brother just got an '05 V8 Mustang so I can't let him COMPLETELY leave me in the dust...MC Pride

Instead of a top-swap you should just save up for a basic ZZP Z3 turbo.

Haha I've heard that from a few people, but I'm probably going to be driving this car for at least another 4 years, maybe more, so I'd like to keep it as reliable/durable as possible for as long as possible.

I was thinking that because the top swap replaces a fair amount of parts, it would help with that. Plus give me some extra power to put my "engine where my exhaust is." So to speak.

Not lookin' to drag race really - I think my ultimate goal is like...315hp or something like that. Though I'd be happy reaching like 280 by the time I get out of college. It takes alot of time to raise money in college, unfortunately.

A lot of people have run into plenty of issues doing a top-swap, which is why I haven't been condoning it. Not saying it can't be done, but a few members have not been enjoying it, or chasing down vacuum leaks, etc.

I'm actually saving up for the Z3 turbo right now. I hope to have it put on next year.

Also, you most likely are just replacing used parts with used parts. That won't always give you more reliability haha.

True, but used parts with less milage have a better chance of lasting, no?

That depends. I'm pretty happy having over 180,000 miles on my car

You haven't had to replace anything stock in the engine?

Depends on what you consider a change. I have many upgrades and in those upgrades I had to change gaskets just because I had the engine open.

But I haven't opened it up for a fix.

Well I'm glad to hear that then. I was looking at some of your modifications. Looks as if you stayed mostly N/A. How much horsepower are you pushing now?

Never dyno'd, but keep up with a stock L67 in an Impala SS.

My build is basically to set me up for my turbo build. Although I'll have to ditch my CAI and downpipe. Since the Turbo will replace both of those.
