I'm going to say it is strictly butt dyno feelings that you are faster. Unless your resonator was completely broken and clogged and actually creating a restriction, it's whole purpose is just to resonate some sound waves away from the cabin to make the ride quieter. Nothing about performance.
I'm with Chibi Mike on this. Any improvements in performance were probably from other mods. Because like I said, my exhaust was completely stock from front to back. All I did was replace the rusted out resonator with a straight piece of pipe. No other mods or work was done at the time. The only difference was in sound. No performance changes on my car.

I'm not crazy about the sound of my exhaust now. I feel it's border line ricer-esque. Not completely ricer sounding, but close to it. If I had the extra money, I'd be looking for a new performance exhaust with a better sound.

no I didnt feel .5 a sec lol. I got 7 seconds not being on the throttle fully. I also know factory is averaged at 7.5 seconds. This said I have a kn panel filter, did a throttle mod, and, in addition to less weight from the exhaust, probally by luck cleared an obstruction inside the pipe. with all that i rationally guestimated that being on full throttle I would have 6.5 at best and a 6.8 being more likely 0-60 time, and the good o' butt dyno agrees.

Butt dyno is a good thing. You can buy `em for $399.
