Default Any Friendly Advice?

I am sorry if this question has been asked already, and please move it if it is in the wrong place, but I was curious about extended warranties. I am about THIS close *pinches fingers together* from buying this BEAUTIFUL 06 SS from the Stealership. It is a Black Beauty, has 47K on it, clean carfax, 2 owners, but I am more than sure that she is out of warranty. So, I know that the trannies are going to crap out soon, and I would hate to have to replace it sooner than I would desire, because that's a humungous dent in the pocket, and I don't have $1700 laying around. So I just wanted to get you guys' "The REAL Experts. " opinions on an extended warranty. I didn't want to ask the dealer because they automatically see money with a question like that, so their opinion would have been biased. Are they worth it? I am in school, so the car won't be driven tooo much except in the summer when I am home for the summer. Shoot, I bought my 01 SS in 2009, and she had 89K on it, Sold her about a month ago and she left with 105K on it, so it won't be driven. Give me you guys' input asap! I am going to go and look at it on Saturday, and I want to know this before then. Appreciate it in advance you guys.!.

If the car is at 47k miles and the tranny goes out "soon" then someone must have abused the !#$%@#$ out of that car.

I got the extended warranty when I bought mine, thought it would be a good thing to have with the Tranny issue but I haven't used it at all and it's almost up

Haaa I know right.!? Dealership said it was owned by an old man. Hopefully he didn't beat it, but you never know. Just thought I'd be playing it safe, just in case.!.

That's awesome!. How much was yours? And I just want to be 100% safe. But since you say you haven't even have issues, I'm starting to question their worth now. Haha.! I would just hate for something like the Tranny to crap on me. All the other stuff doesn't really matter, because I can handle it. But that's the one thing that I want to make sure I cover.
