That car would be a better buy than your first choice for that amount of money. The 3800 engine is a great engine if you take care of it, oil changes, a tune up and the usual preventive maintenance required by any car. Getting a carfax on it would be a good idea as well, like someone suggested earlier for the first car.

Yea, the first one is over priced. I agree with Todd, $6500 is the most i'd pay for the 2003 you were looking at. The 2001 looks like a nice car, and the price is about right!

that one looks nice too, looks a little cleaner maybe and definately a better price, just a few more miles on it, id still check the carfax, you never know how hard the car has been driven with those miles on it, but id check the carfax to see if there was any damage which will kind of show you if it has been beaten on to an extent

I sold my '01 SS LE 3 years ago (all ready!) w/118K mi for $6,800 to a local lady. I see it every few weeks. It has the red bow-tie on the front just like my Intimidator SS.
$6,000-6,500 book for a '03 SS LE, $5,500-6,000 for a base SS

Though it's not a Monte, may I suggest looking at similar year Grand Prix GTP also??

You can still find them in 2 doors, plus they will come with the L67 and shouldn't be priced any higher than 6k while being supercharged.

I think this may be worth 8 thousand, if you're willing to travel?

http://tinyurl.com/yf799kp - 42,xxx miles!http://tinyurl.com/yfzaery - 52,xxx miles!

I agree with Mike on the recommendation as well.
I love silverbullit's dad's GTP lol
Well atleast before the 04 body style change ...that was just a horrible change. IMO

Yep, just like Mike said... do ALOT of research.
Because once you think you've found the one you want and signed for it, a week later you'll find a cheaper one with a lot less miles lol.
There WAS a Jeff Gordon with 56,xxx miles for 8, thousand!!!!!!!!!!
Granted, its not supercharged but it was a nice looking Monte.
You could also search different zip codes, neighboring states and cities, just make sure you've looked as far as you would probably go.
I remember when i first came here with advise, i posted a link with a white Monte that was in New York that i was willing to travel about 4-5 just to make sure i got the best Monte for my Money.
