So I have a 1987 SS that is in great condition body wise. I had a couple ideas on what I want to do to it. I just want to know if its possible and if anyone else has done it. I want to keep the car looking as original as possible but I want the mechanics to be brand new. I want to put the new LT4 engine in and a reliable transmission to go with it. If I could keep it automatic with a 6 speed that would be great but would go manual if need be. I also want to do a new suspension preferably from a newer model corvette or Camaro something with a better ride. An exhaust upgrade would be good too nothing to crazy loud when at idle but when the RPM's are high I definitely want a good roar. I want it to look old school but basically be a new car underneath. This car was left to me by my father who passed away when I was 7 so this is going to be a project in his honor and money wont be that big an issue. I'm not the best mechanic so any ideas from anyone would be a big help.
