83 ss monte carlo with t-tops rare?
any input would be great just trying to figure out if what i have is worth something or is it just a regular old ss gbody? thank you everyone
83 Monte Carlo SS weren't available as t top option cars
T top option on a true SS wasn't factory until the 85 up models.
Not to say it couldn't been a dealer modification but I'd be suspicious.
Best way to check is ask for the VIN for a true 83 model SS the 8th digit of the vin should be a 7.
84 up the 8 the digit of vin should be a G
Other easy just visuals I can think of off top of my head 83-84 SS were either white or blue .
All 83 models were bench seat with blue interior and had the white head rest in the seats with SS logo on them.

that's the link for a picture of the body im going to take a pic of the vin today if this does have a dealer modification do you know if there is any way I can get records of it? I know that's a little far stretched but from what I have read dealer modifications like someone having a true 350 they got from the dealer the chances are like 0 to none it is a bench seat with 3 on the tree the t tops are not a hack job barley any rust is what led me to believe it wasn't done in someone's back yard lol thank you so much for the help

I cant get that link to work for me. Yes those supposed dealer add ons are hard to trace down. Or even done after the fact by another company.
The problem is that its very easy to convert a standard monte carlo to look like an SS visually pretty simple. The nose bolts right up, add a spoiler on the trunk and you pretty much have a clone. at least cosmetically anyhow.
The 83 SS did have a 350 transmission so that is a plus to at least it being an 83 year but probably what you have is a regular monte not an SS.
Only quick easy was is look at that vin, the 8th digit needs to be a 7
if so you indeed are looking at a true SS.
Does it at least have the blue bench seat with white headrest and SS logo on headrest?
Upper door panels should be white also.

I do know its not a clone I took a loan out against it to get my license back and they ran the vin to find out what usaa said it was worth they valued the car at $6k ill be off work at 3:30 how do I post pics correctly lol don't want everyone that's tryin to help have to click 10 different links
car is white with bench seats I can see where whoever had the car before me used damn leather white paint on everything inside seats use to be blue the car even came with a ss monte carlo book im itching to get off work so I can post pictures up for everyone!
Also in side the trunk on the SPID sticker where all the RPO codes are a SS verson should have a Z65 code for SS option, but the VIN is the real deal to know. Trunk lids are also easily changed out
Also all the trim around the wind shield, rear window, tail lights, and the quarter windows should be solid black. Again those are easy modified if one was so inclined to clone.
the seats should be blue, only the adjustable headrest part is white and should have blue SS logo on the white head rest part.
