im looking to get rid of my power steering on my 83 monte, need to know which non power steering gear boxes i can use, also i need to swap my steering column out and need to know which ones are interchangable preffabley a non tilt

Contact Monte's Montes or Dixie Monte Carlo Depot. They may be able to help out with a non-power steering box?
Not that any salvage yard worth their salt shouldn't be able to hook you up with the same thing. Cause they should be.
And there were factory built '78-88 Montes with non-tilt columns in them as well. So these parts are out there.
PS. a '78 Malibu (including the Wagons) can be a source of parts as well. I know for a 100% fact the dash in a '78 Malibu Wagon will fit right in to an '81 Monte. Cause that's where I got the donor dash in my girlfriend's '81 Monte.
