Default 7th Gen SS Prices. Looking to buy.

After deciding to get back into an MC and not purchase a GM half ton truck. Ive been looking at 7th gen SS's alot the past couple months and I found an 07 SS that I really like. From what ive been seeing within 500 miles of me its a pretty fair deal and its the second color im considering and has black leather which is a must. Ill cut to the chase, its a dark red 07 with 43,000 miles. The guy is asking $15,500. Its not an outstanding deal but I think its pretty fair and its almost exactly what I want. What do you think about the price?

Seem's pretty fair actually. mine was $16,500 with 38k.
so an 07 with 43k, 15.5g's seems nice.

Considering the numbers, that seems pretty good. My 06 was $14,995 with 61k miles 2.5 years ago.

Just to help give you an idea I just got a 2006 Monte Carlo SS at a used car dealership for right at $14,000 after talking them down from $18,000. When I got the car it had just crossed over 56k miles. Mine had a clean car fax. Just had minor poblems that you would expect to see from a northern car (a couple rust bubbles and a couple small dents). So that seems like a good deal. But if you have a fairly long drive to go to it I would try to talk him down to $15,000

all of these prices seem high to me for a car thats 6/7yrs old. i wanted to get rid of mine in a few months, (but have decided to give it to my old man since he likes the car) and i wouldve been happy with 10XXX. im at 62000miles and have all the factory parts for it. i paid 18 for the car 5 years ago with 15k on it. personally id shop around and look for one in the 10/12k price range if not lower, but thats just me. at the age and mileage of the car if the trans hasnt been upgraded and rebuilt itll be due for it in the not so distant future. its better to get one for 10k put 3k into the trans and know itll take whatever youll throw at it then to buy one for 14 and have the trans dynamite on you. even with the 13 in it after the trans youll still have that extra g to throw at a ls6 intake and a pair of drs. oh and op the color youre talking about is jewel red tintcoat which was a 300 option. i believe it was only offered in 07. i assume its probably one of the rarer colors. black amethyst, and laser blue being the others.

Dealerships tend to start these cars high for some reason. My guess is because they're unique, popular and people want them. I have dealerships asking me all the time if I want to trade mine in, and every time I basically smile and say no. They know they can get top dollar and a quick turn around off of a Monte Carlo. For whatever reason, they tend to be extremely high priced in Michigan, which is why I went to the middle of Ohio for mine. I actually caught mine immediately after the price was reduced by $2,000. The window sticker still said $16,995 when I went to look at the car.

Comparing to mine, I still think that price is decent.

I would definitely offer lower. They only wanted to give me 12K trade in on mine and it had 52K. I had it on Craigslist for about a month and a half with one call at $14995. You are better off going private party. Try to find out how long its been for sale. There are really a lot out there for sale. Mine was even Black Amethyst. Good Luck

The price on these cars are high everywhere, if its what you want go for it talk em down if u can, 14k would be a better price, all the dealers ask 17k+ for ones with 60k and above here which is why i wont buy one
