As far as I know so called "performance" wires aren't really worth it. I've heard of guys getting MSD wires and after 1 year they hear a ticking in the radio, because the wires are interfering with the signals. I've read a few testimonials where users CLAIM to have regained up to 4WHP, nothing you'll ever feel, and you'd probably regain 4WHP by going with OEM wires, that is if your wires are over 100,000 miles, which is when they should be changed.

Seen any performance gains? Anything else noticeable? Or are they just expensive replacements?

I put performace wires on my S-10 8mm Taylors, and I did notice a small gain in the pedal. I would buy them for my monte but I dont think they make em for the 06 3.5

imo i would only buy performance wires like taylor, msd, etc if i was going for a custom look under the hood like mel. the oem stockers have been said to be good for 500-600 hp.

you could buy a universal kit and make your own wires. not very hard to do at all if you have a crimper.
