Ram Air Intake is a hot air intake if I remember right, and those are horrible performance mods, most often they hurt your performance more than they help it. If you can give a spending budget of what you're able/willing to spend on the car, we can go from there. Otherwise, go to www.zzperformance.com and click on the Grand Prix, these guys specialize in performance parts for the 3800 engine. You'll have to check compatibility issues, I'm not sure if you have the Series 1 3800 or Series 2 3800, but first and easy and relatively cheap performance mods would be a CAI (cold air intake) $244, expect a 5-6HP increase, and a downpipe with HIflowcat $80-$250, expect a 3-5HP increase. Those are the first basic bolt-on mods everyone should start with.

Should be a 3800 performance parts sticky in one of these forums- look around for that. Just look under the L36 section.

L36's major mods without getting boosted:
-intake (forget the short ram- go CAI or FWI)
-downpipe
-ER rockers
-HV3
-Tstat
-tuned PCM
-PLOG or small headers like S&S

if you keep going you get into cam & heads (where you make big power gains on just about any NA engine)- but if you can't afford a supercharger (see below), then you definitely can't afford heads, cam, and a torque converter.

i cant afford to supercharge it right now unless you can find one for cheap.
It can be done under $1000- is that cheap enough? The NA 3800 has to be one of the cheapest cars in the wolrd to supercharge.
